In April 2025, the Chicago Student Refugee Coalition and The Hydroponic Venture Project partnered to host the 2025 Talcott Cooking Class for the 7th Grade Class at Talcott Fine Arts and Museum Academy. At the event, Chef Sebastian White @theeveolvednetwork walked students through a cooking lesson, guiding them in learning the core values of cooking with fresh and healthy ingredients. Additionally, registered dietician @lara field, walked students through a lesson on the importance of nutrition while student volunteers worked with students to complete worksheets about their personal eating habits. Thank you to everyone who helped make this wonderful event possible, especially Montrose Deli with whom we were able to give out over 380 pounds of fresh produce, allowing students to take the lessons they learned together to their homes.
