The Chicago Student Refugee Coalition is a student-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization aimed to help student refugees settle into a new environment during a crucial period in their lives. Student refugees face a unique challenge, as they move into completely different surroundings during their adolescence. We at the CSRC have had a much different experience than our fellow students; therefore, the best we can do is listen to their stories. Nevertheless, we share the connection of having to cram study for tests, struggle with unnecessary homework, and deal with the overwhelming need to fit in. We believe that by building strong relationships among students, and learning from each other about our cultures and traditions, we can create a massive impact on the lives of the student-refugee population in Chicago!
Chicago Student Refugee Coaliton was founded in 1995 by a group of community members who recognized the need for a local organization dedicated to helping homeless individuals. Since then, we have grown into a thriving nonprofit, serving hundreds of individuals each year.
Our team is made up of dedicated professionals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of those we serve. From case managers to outreach workers, we work together to provide comprehensive support to our clients.
