"I am VP of Finance for the CSRC. As I saw the growing number of migrants in our city, I felt an increasing desire to find a way to help, especially regarding children. When I heard some of my friends’ ideas of the CSRC and learned more about our mission, I became immediately interested. While my favorite experiences have all been at our events, interacting with the students with whom we have so much in common, I also greatly appreciate the opportunity to work on the back-end jobs that are necessary for an organization to run. The work we have done over the past year with newcomer youth has changed me for the better, and has created a love for community service that will last for the rest of my life."

"I am the Vice-President of Fundraising and a leofer on the fundraising team. CSRC has given me the unique opportunity to give back to a community that is close to me. When Jayen invited me to join, I was skeptical as to the impact we could make as teens with limited resources, however, after I attended my first event I was fully invested. When the team creates fundraisers, it allows us to see the whole community interact as a whole. It connects the donors to the people we are helping and changes lives. This organization will not only help students build roots and create community but also connect people and ideas that will become a staple for the future. "

"I joined the CSRC when it was founded because I strongly believe in the organization’s mission to build a strong connection among the city’s youth. The CSRC presents the unique opportunity to interact with newcomer youth all over the city and to impact people you never thought you could have connected with. Now more than ever, the organization’s role in fostering relationships among Chicago’s children is extremely prevalent and allows all of us to find a way to relate to one another."
